Tree Service FAQ
Answers to common questions about tree removal, trimming, emergency work, service areas, estimates, insurance, workers compensation, bonding, licensing and what to expect when you hire Patriot Tree Experts.
Answers Before the First Cut
You should understand the work before choosing a tree-service company. Start with the questions below about the service you need, where we work, what your estimate includes and the documentation available for your project.
Each topic has its own expandable answers. For details about a particular tree or access problem, use the estimate form below or contact our team. An online answer does not replace a property-specific evaluation.
For urgent storm damage or blocked access, call about current emergency availability rather than waiting for an online response.

Services & Tree Care
We provide tree removal, tree trimming and pruning, emergency tree service, stump grinding, arborist-focused tree care, cabling and bracing, plant health care, soil and tree injections, shrub and hedge pruning, and land clearing.
It depends on the tree’s structure, health, root stability, damage, location and your goals. Our guide to tree trimming vs. tree removal explains the main differences.
Yes. We assess the tree, nearby structures, access and the space available to handle removed sections. Some properties may be suitable for crane-assisted removal; others need a different approach. Share driveway and gate restrictions when requesting an estimate. See our tree removal service for the full process.
Yes. We handle fallen trees, broken limbs, split trunks, blocked driveways and other urgent hazards. Visit our emergency tree service page.
Yes. Clearance pruning can address dead, broken or overextended limbs near roofs, driveways, walkways, fences and other structures. See tree trimming services.
Yes. Stump grinding can be added when access allows and you want the remaining stump reduced below grade.
Yes. A lean is evaluated together with root movement, trunk condition, cracks, decay, soil changes and what the tree could affect if it failed.
Yes. Selected trees may benefit from cabling and bracing when support is appropriate and the tree otherwise has enough value and structure to retain.
Yes. Visit our plant health care page for tree-health services and treatment options.
Yes. We provide shrub pruning and hedge trimming in addition to our main tree services.

No. Liability insurance and workers compensation address different types of risk. A professional tree company should be able to explain both.
No. A bond is a different financial product and the protection depends on the bond type, terms and requirement.
Yes. If your project, property manager, insurer or contractor requires documentation, ask us for current proof.
Yes. Current documentation can be provided when appropriate for the project.
We do not claim ISA or other arborist certification on the website unless that credential is specifically verified. We do provide arborist-focused tree care services.
Tree work combines people, saws, heavy wood, equipment, structures and real jobsite hazards. Insurance, workers compensation, bonding and applicable licensing each address a different part of operating professionally.
Pricing, Estimates, Emergency Work & What to Expect
Yes. Call 304-400-8322 or use our contact page to request an estimate.
Cost depends on size, condition, access, structures, equipment, cleanup and other site-specific factors. Read our tree removal cost guide.
Confirm whether the estimate includes chipping, log handling, hauling and final cleanup, and identify any wood you want left on site. Existing brush piles and stump grinding should be discussed separately. Compare these same items across quotes so a lower total is not simply a smaller scope of work.
Not automatically. Stump grinding is typically a separate line of work because grinder access, stump size and site conditions vary.
Limited access, large size, decay, storm damage, nearby structures, rigging, difficult terrain, equipment needs and extensive cleanup can all increase the work involved.
It varies with the tree and property. Read our guide on how long tree removal takes.
Keep people away from unstable material and call for help. Our guide explains what to do when a tree falls on a house or blocks a driveway.
We can provide tree-service documentation, photos and scope information related to our work and coordinate practical tree cleanup. Insurance coverage decisions remain with the insurer.
That depends on property access, what needs to be discussed and the job. We can tell you what is needed when the estimate is scheduled.
Move vehicles and movable items from the work zone when requested, keep pets and children away from the crew area, and make sure gates or access routes are available. We will discuss job-specific preparation before work starts.
